Majestic is the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer, with a simple mission: To help our customers discover and buy wines, beers and spirits they will love.
In order to deliver on that promise to our customers, we focus on a number of key areas.

Right product, right price
For almost five decades, Majestic has shaped the drinking habits of a nation. Our market-leading proposition spans more than 1,200 wines, plus growing ranges of premium beers, spirits, snacks and complementary gifting products. We place a relentless focus on innovating and refreshing our range, ensuring that there are always new and exciting wines for our customers to explore from around the world.
Majestic’s multi-award-winning buying team includes a Master of Wine, and boasts unparalleled relationships with 400 suppliers globally, from the major Champagne houses in France, to small family vineyards in Greece. Our unique combination of national scale and local expertise means we can help our growers reach discerning wine-lovers right across the UK.


New stores
Majestic’s stores are at the heart of our business, offering an experience for our customers that simply cannot be replicated online, or by any of our competitors. The ability to try wines before you buy and tap into the knowledge of WSET-educated experts have been vital parts of the Majestic proposition – and our success – since the business was founded in 1980. Driven by those fundamentals, we are proud to say that every single store in our 200-strong portfolio is profitable.
We remain committed to expanding our bricks-and-mortar portfolio across the UK. We have opened more than 20 new shops since we were acquired by Fortress Investment Group in December 2019 – from Plymouth to Preston – and aim to open at least five new shops every year over the next five years.


Developing new systems to enable service
Alongside our investments in opening and refurbishing stores, Majestic is on a journey of continuous improvement to our systems, driving our progress as the UK’s only multichannel specialist wine retailer.
Our stores double up as micro-fulfilment centres, both for our Majestic Commercial on-trade partners, and for customers shopping with us online. Our innovative Shop Local capability, developed in-house by our IT experts, allows those shopping digitally to order from the stock available in the local store, in real time, for click and collect within four hours, or next day delivery via the store’s dedicated van. We have also revamped our Wine Club and Lock It In subscriptions propositions, making it more convenient for customers to manage their subscriptions, or gift subscriptions to friends and family.


Hiring and developing expert colleagues
Majestic’s people are our secret weapon – particularly those in our retail teams. Our success is built on hiring great people and investing in their development. As one of the biggest wine educators in Europe, Majestic Wine Group invests in offering all of our store colleagues industry recognised training through the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), ensuring that everyone in our stores is educated to at least Level 2, with Store Managers reaching Level 3.
That expert knowledge means that shopping with Majestic is much more than a simple transaction. Our store teams are able to help our customers explore our range and discover new wines, beers and spirits they wouldn’t find anywhere else. Every single one of our stores has its own Tasting Counter, where a selection of wines are open to taste for free, seven days a week.
We’re incredibly proud of the education and career development opportunities we offer our colleagues – and that was recognised by the prestigious Retail Week Awards in 2024, when Majestic was named as the industry’s Happiest Place to Work.
